Buon Giorno ciao amori,
Our 1st full day in Florence was delightful! We awoke to another beautiful day, temperatures in the mid 30's and sunny. Amanda left for the show at 8:45am and Joseph and Nanna stayed behind. Joseph took a morning nap. Nanna and Joseph left for the day at 10:45am and my first stop was a local cafe where I had a cup of caffe and una pasta. Delicioso!! We then walked through the streets of Florence looking at the windows of amazing shops...so much to see. We met Amanda at the show at 12:30pm and Joseph had lunch..the booths at the show were gorgeous and American Trench was well represented.
Joseph and Nanna then continued out to the streets where we bought a Soccer shirt for Gabriel. I had a delicious mozzarella and tomato sandwich and water on the steps of the Santa Maria del Fiore duomo. Joseph and Nanna then went inside the duomo where we lit a candle for Megan and Nanny and looked at the magnificent ceiling. The temperatures became quite nice in the upper 50's.
We then walked to the piazza where we met Amanda. Joseph ate at a Gellateria (not Gellato) and we had a caffe. Amanda and I both bought some fabulous boots and then Amanda had to go back to work. Joseph and I wandered back to the apartment. Joseph had a nice bath in the bathroom sink.
Amanda came back around 6:15pm and Joseph had his "dinner".
Sounds glorious! Boots, huh? Just like our Mom...So thrilled to be following your adventures.
